Anyone looking for macabre reading recommendations? If so then you are in the right place. Here are 8 macabre books. I have added pithy comments/fictitious commentary below each.
Yes, that child is levitating.
Still Life: Adventures In Taxidermy
If you are seeking a ‘fascinating romp through the world of stuffed animals’ then look no further.
What a terrifying creature!
This book is best tackled on an empty stomach.
Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
I wonder what Jane Austen would make of this.
Rest In Pieces: The Curious Fates of Famous Corpses
Intriguing: I am adding this to my reading list.
Walter Potter’s Curious World of Taxidermy
Yuck!

I’m adding ‘Rest In Pieces’ to my to-read list Guy. That Walter Potter taxidermy book is really disturbing. The ‘Peculiar Children’ and ‘They Thirst’ books have excellent front covers!
I look forward to comparing notes on ‘Rest In Pieces’ Trina.
Anything having to do with Taxidermy is a yuck for me. Nice job, Guy
Pleased to hear that I am not alone in that regard John.
There may be more of us too.

Two books dealing with stuffy subjects?
I like the idea of self-raising children, though perhaps not in that sense.
Not too surprising that zombies are subject to pride and prejudice. How can you have a stable relationship when somebody keeps falling apart?
‘Self-raising children’ — that would undoubtebly be a best-seller in the non-Fiction category. The front cover could feature levitating children doing their homework and helping with the housework.
Ooh – some of these books are weird. I enjoyed your witty comments, Guy. 🙂
They sure are Heather.
